Several generations ago, both sides of my family were farmers. Since I was young, I’ve had a burning desire to grow things, but little knowledge or talent to do so. My first attempt at gardening around age 10 was planting some mystery corn kernels. Months later, they turned into huge stalks. When we peeled back the husks, it turned out they were maize. My mom stole all of them for fall decorations.
For a number of years, I lived in houses where I couldn’t really garden for one reason or another, so I had container gardens that got more and more successful despite the sweltering Georgia heat. We moved into a 2-acre homestead six months ago, and I now can garden to my heart’s content. But I needed more skills and spent all winter watching gardening videos so I would have at least a little success this year.
These are my favorite gardening Youtubers!
